SBDC Business Counseling

Through Calumet County’s partnership with the UW Green Bay Small Business Development Center, start-up and existing companies in the county have access to expertise provided by Entrepreneurship Specialist Ray York. 

Native to Eau Claire County, Ray joined the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation an Entrepreneurship Specialist in 2018.  His position is part of a collaboration with the Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay, where he works in coordination with the SBDC as a business counselor. 

Ray supports existing and start-up businesses throughout Calumet County.  He meets with businesses at their locations, or at a mutually convenient public space such as a coffee shop. 

In addition to his positions at the SCEDC and SBDC, Ray is a small business owner, serving as President of York Estates, Inc, which has owned The Rochester Inn in Sheboygan Falls since 2016.  Ray serves on the board of directors for the Sheboygan Falls Chamber Main Street, participating on the Economic Development Committee, and working as the Tourism Liaison for the Tourism Committee.  Ray is also a SCORE volunteer and mentor.

Fox Cities S.C.O.R.E. Mentoring

S.C.O.R.E. mentors are available to offer expertise and experience on all aspects of business.  They are able to assist via online or in person platforms.

CAP Services

CAP Services provides free technical assistance to low-income individuals and those who will employ low-income individuals to create jobs for low-income individuals. They also  can assist clients with financing packages and gap financing. 

1 Million Cups-Appleton, WI

1 Million Cups is a weekly opportunity that allows local entrepreneurs to share their stories, network and learn how those around them can support their business as it grows. The Appleton million cups program is held Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am at Fox Valley Technical College.
