Beginning January 1, 2023, Calumet County Public Health will no longer be contacting individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19. Individuals should follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Isolation and Exposure guidelines if the individual has either tested positive (Isolation) or was exposed to someone with COVID-19.
Calumet County Public Health will continue to support high-risk settings where preventing or controlling outbreaks is necessary to protect vulnerable people. All confirmed or suspected outbreaks of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases should continue to be reported to the Public Health office. This includes, but is not limited to, outbreaks in congregate or healthcare settings, educational facilities, shelters, and workplaces.
COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, remain our most powerful tool for minimizing hospitalizations and deaths. Testing, mask wearing, isolation and quarantine are also key activities that should be prioritized as appropriate. For further information you can visit the COVID-19 information section of the Calumet County Public Health website, www.calumetcounty.org.
